Kicking off the Influential Women Series with Amy Kux

Hi Friends.  Thank you for tuning into a special episode of Pandocap.  We are kicking off the summer with an Influential Women's series.  We will be chatting with leaders across industries who have led the way in their field.  We are so excited to kick off our first series with Amy Kux. She has over 11 years of experience in tech and finance roles and is a huge advocate for women in finance.  To kick us off let's say hello to Amy Kux.

Hi Amy, welcome to Pandocap.

Q: Amy can you please share your background with our audience and your journey to your current role?

A:  With an unusual journey and a Bachelors in Psychology,  I realized that a business is nothing without the people behind it.

Q: As we continue to see that more companies and investors discuss how to diversify leadership and boards.  How have you been able to navigate organizations to land leadership roles?

A: Knowing peoples background and fully understanding who they are allows me to help them get into leadership roles.  In regards to boards we still need more representation on boards and different skill sets versus just CEOs or COOs, and have yet to see more CFOs.

Q: This year has brought on many challenges for everyone personally and professionally?  What are some of the challenges that you have overcome?

A:  As a mom we want to showcase to our girls what a strong woman is and we sacrifice time with our kids.  I chose not to do that and I am redirecting my time to be more stable and healthy by the time we get through this period.

Q: The next generation is showing the world that they have a voice.  We have seen them take an interest in the financial markets?  If you could give the next generation advice on how to seek an opportunity in finance, what would you recommend?

A: The financial markets are something worth watching and I am using Robinhood with my kids to help them understand the value of the stock market.  It’s a great time to get into the market because it’s so unprecedented and you have to research companies while understanding their value.  With new graduates I would encourage them to take the same approach in reaching companies financials to really understand what kind of company you are joining.

Q: What are your projections for the end of year and going into 2021?

A: My goal is going back to being a CFO or consulting.  I hope that 2021 the global economy has a heart and we come back to the old way of doing things, we are less transactional and more about actually building relationships.

Thank you again for joining us on this special edition of “The Influential Women” series on Pandocap and stay tuned as we help give voice to the next generation of influential leaders.  Subscribe here to get our newsletter https://lnkd.in/gFXnZbu.
